RESUMO: O presente trabalho realiza uma breve revisão das leituras utilizadas na análise regional, buscando inserir o tema no contexto atual. Para tanto, utiliza como instrumental a visão de alguns estudiosos sobre a questão da região. Busca-se, portanto, compreender um dos aspectos mais relevantes no processo da globalização. Além disso, incluem-se aspectos relativos ao mercado de trabalho visto que, dentro das novas características da economia, impõem-se mudanças nas relações de trabalho e no processo de divisão do trabalho, seja social ou territorial.

some contemporary considerationsABSTRACT: The present work accomplishes a brief revision of the readings used in regional analysis, with a view to inserting the theme into the current context. To that end the vision of a few experts on the region issue has been instrumental. What is sought, therefore, is to understand one of the most important aspects in the globalization process. Besides that, aspects regarding the labor market are included because within the most recent characteristics of the economy, changes are imposed in the labor relationships and labor division process, be they social or territorial.
