A análise do setor de FVL (frutas, verduras e legumes) permite verificar que as mudanças que ocorreram na estrutura do setor varejista na última década resultaram na criação de novas políticas de aquisição de produtos e no desenvolvimento de estruturas de abastecimento. Nesse contexto, foi observada uma reestruturação da gestão do relacionamento interorganizacional, bem como das transações entre os agentes envolvidos na distribuição de hortaliças. Este trabalho tem como objetivo analisar as transações que ocorrem na distribuição de hortaliças, em especial na de tomate in natura, sob a ótica da Economia dos Custos de Transação (ECT). Como resultados, por um lado observa-se a maior eficiência dos canais, por outro, observa-se a intensificação de rivalidades entre os agentes envolvidos na distribuição de hortaliças.

A sectoral analysis within the fruit and vegetable sector led to the verification that the changes occurring in the retail sector´s structure in the last decade resulted in the creation of new acquisition policies and in the development of supply frameworks. Within this context, a restructuring has been observed of both the interorganizational relationship management and the transactions among agents involved in vegetable distribution. This work aims to analyze transactions taking place in the distribution of vegetables, particularly that of fresh tomatoes, from the perspective of the transaction Cost economics (TCE) theory. AS results, among others. A higher efficiency of the channels is observed, as well as a more intense rivalry among the agents involved in the distribution of vegetables.
