O objetivo deste estudo foi o de construir e analisar indicadores de competitividade recente dos agronegócios paulista e brasileiro. Foram utilizados como indicadores índices de contribuição ao saldo comercial corrigidos pelo PIB, índices de vantagens comparativas reveladas nas exportações e taxas de cobertura. Os resultados mostraram que os agronegócios brasileiro, do Estado de São Paulo e das demais Unidades da Federação (UFs) revelaram vantagens comparativas com índices crescentes, indicando aumento de competitividade. São Paulo era mais competitivo nos produtos manufaturados, e as demais UFs nos produtos básicos. Índices crescentemente desfavoráveis foram observados para bens de capital e insumos comercializados com os demais setores.

The objective of this study was to build and to analyze indicators of recent competitiveness
in agribusiness in Sao Paulo and Brazil. They were used as balance trade contribution
indexes indicators corrected by GDP, revealed comparative advantages indices in the
exports and covering taxes. The results showed that the Brazilian agribusiness, of the state of
São Paulo and of other states revealed growing indexes of comparative advantages, indicating
an increase in competitiveness. São Paulo was more competitive in manufactured products,
and the other states in basic products. Indexes increasingly unfavorable were observed for
capital goods and inputs marketed with the other sectors.
